Well thats a million dollar question, anything could be classed as fantasy, depending on the interpretations and arguments used, even logical rational, can be classed as fantasy, based on some existential point of view for example.

Both fantasy and surrealism can be very subjective and can mean the same thing even.

Depends on what level of conscieousness you consider to be surreal or fantasy. 'That's my opinion' but it all depends on what you think and how you catagorise, fantasy and or reality, surrealism, etc.

You could call anything what you want, even make your own term up.

I can only catagorise my own work if i choose to.

If you really want what i think, i will add to *tbholman catagory and put it in the cool section, under Rachalism.

how about 'through your gills I breath'? As a title.

And it is pretty surreal. Reminds me of the sort of thing that Magritte would do, if he wanted people to see the faces...

Kind of like a film still from a Dali film.

Rachel, this is a very nicely done surreal drawing. You have wonderfully incorporated the fish into the scene, not to mention how beautifully you have drawn them. There is a good flow of movement in the picture that draws one's eyes to all that is there to be seen. Your colors are vibrant and give more life to the drawing. I hope you are proud of this work!
